Looking back on our 1st year...

...and what a year it was...

2024 at Solskin Festival was epic on so many levels, we cannot begin to tell you how proud we are of so many people that made this dream a reality!  And we have so much love for everyone who attended, here are some highlights...

Live Music

Year of the Ram

2024 was the year of the ram, the symbol of Derbyshire and also power and strength

During the day, guests wrote down on parchment messages to past loved ones or something they wanted to let go of.  In a full ceremony in the presence of Urd, Verdandi and Skuld (Norse Goddesses of Fate) the sculpture was lit sending these messages to their destinations.

We were honoured to have chanting during the ritual by the incredible vocals from Nytt Land, it was a unique, spiritual and emotional event which will be remembered for quite some time.

In 2025 the symbol is the Wolf, what does the wolf mean to you?

Past, Present and Future

Each day at Solskin has a different theme.  2024 was Past, Present & Future.

Friday (Past) On this day, we remembered our ancestors, lost loved ones, and/or let go of something.  It was about honouring their memory and the impact they've had on our lives. But it wasn't just about looking back; it was also a time to let go of the past, releasing any burdens or regrets that may have been holding us back.

Saturday (Future) Celebrations!  The beat of live music filled the air! It was time to embrace the now, it was a time to make new friends and new paths.  The people around you are no longer strangers, they are brothers, sisters in this new family!  Let’s celebrate this day together in a truly unforgettable experience for all.

Sunday (Future) The energy was more relaxed compared to the vibrant celebrations of yesterday.  it's a day for contemplation, conversations about new paths in life, and the exciting journeys that lie ahead.  The music still plays a central role, but today's tunes are more mellow.  It's a time to pause, embrace the calm, and engage in conversations about new beginnings.
